The bones of the vertebral column are held together by ligaments and muscles. We’ve talked about the muscles, so let’s have a look at the major ligaments. Luckily they’re sensibly named, if you know the names of the parts of the vertebral bones.
This is also an introduction to the concept of the three columns of the spinal column, and spinal instability. I won’t talk about it in detail, but you should get the idea and be able to take that with you to further, more detailed understanding.
