Liszt 3 Etudes No 3 Un Sospiro Lamond Rec 1936 .

Before there was an Artur Schnabel there was Frederick Lamond, one of Liszt’s last pupils. It was Lamond, (1868-1948) (who like d’Albert, was born in Glasgow, Scotland), who first recorded complete performances of the ’Moonlight’, ’Appassionata’ and ’Waldstein’ Sonatas between 1919 and 1924. With the advent of electrical recording, Lamond re-recorded those works along with other sonatas of Beethoven, a composer whom he worshipped. But unlike Schnabel, Lamond had a wide ranging repertoire that included compositions of non-Germanic composers such as Chopin, Rubinstein, Tchaikovsky and of course Liszt.
