“Fier Chevalier“ Medieval Saint George’s Song

This is a traditional French song about Saint George and chivalry. • Refrain English Lyrics: Proud Knight, the shine of your armor Like a sun that attracts all eyes Your loyalty, and your pure soul We have been captivated, and we are joyful. • Refrain Saint George, guide us On the clear and beautiful route Saint George, guide us, Make us strong and ready for anything. Keep the charm of a smile in our eyes When we are suffering at the height of our effort And should we suffer a long martyrdom, Hold our hearts upright when our bodies weaken. • Refrain Ô victorious one, from your dwelling of glory Assist us, when here we struggle Lead our footsteps to the roads of victory To death if need be, we will follow you. • Refrain I’m fairly sure that this is a more modern interpretation of an original Medieval song, but I’m not 100% sure if it’s originally composed during the medieval era. If anyone knows, I’d be grateful if you could let me know!
