The KAWAI K1 - A transitional synth?

I see the KAWAI K1 as a transition between technological ages. The prominent feature is the 4-way joystick control which is a great concept but is let down by a profound lack of refinement in its relationship to the sounds. But it was an introduction to an era (the 90’s) that embraced dynamic with great gusto! As it was, though, the K1’s sonic legacy is a box of hammers - you’ll see what I mean.
