Hugo Sanchez was such an excellent striker with such incredible aim and touch, that he didn’t need to be fast nor did he even need to dribble the ball, because all he truly needed to score was a literally a single touch. So dominant and efficient, that it only took that one moment of contact with the ball for him to lead la liga in scoring for nearly 5 consecutive seasons in a row. Because if you combine the Pichichi Trophies of Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Karim Benzema, and Samuel Eto’, you still won’t surpass the number of goal scoring awards that Hugo Sanchez had. But as legendary as he was, it’s a shame just how criminally underrated the man is. Because perhaps, had he been European or maybe even South American, his name would be coming up non stop in goal scoring conversation simply out of pure respect.
