The US and Germany are partnering to develop a European-made rocket launcher together. In April, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall for the development of the system. The weapon is based on Lockheed’s High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems [HIMARS] and aims to benefit Germany and other European nations. Lockheed Martin’s Howard Bromberg said that the weapon combines a Rheinmetall chassis and a Lockheed Martin loader component.
