Hungarian hit from 1930s! Puszta-Fox - Mała Orkiestra Taneczna (1948)

Puszta-Fox (E. Mihály) – Mała Orkiestra Taneczna (A Little Dance Orchestra), Muza c. 1948 (Polish) NOTE: “Puszta Fox” in a Hungarian hit composed by Erdélyi Mihály, and performed by innumerable dance orchestras throughout Europe in the 1930s/40s to become an international evergreen. This version is labeled on the Polish record as the Little Dance Orchestra which is probably a nickname hiding some “pirate release”, as we’d say today. During postwar years, Polish record industry often relied on matrices left in Poland by fleeing Germans at the end of World War II. Most often they came from the Polish branch of the German Odeon in Warsaw; many recordings were also left in Wrocław in the Electrola factory. So I suspect, the name “Little Dance Orchestra“ hides a dance orchestra active in the Third Reich, which however has not been named on the Polish label. The slideshow presents some awesome interwar posters from Hungary.
