Bio By She Rox All Female Bands: Finnish based trio, Stalingrad Cowgirls began in 2005 by sisters Riina and Enni Kivela along with friend and bassist Henna Vaarala. The band quickly gained local success and released their debut album in 2007, their brand of pop punk is full of rock attitude and has a slight radio friendly commercial feel, although only released in Scandinavia, this didn’t stop the band for opening for such heavy weight bands as Motley Crue and Iggy & The Stooges. Touring Europe, China and Japan opened the band to and even larger audience and by 2010 with the release of “Kiss Your Heart Goodbye“, a Finnish Top 40 album, catapulted by the lead off single “Baby Girl“, Stalingrad Cowgirls had reach commercial radio play as well as commercial success in Europe. Stalingrad Cowgirls called in quits however in 2012 citing that they just no longer had the time to devote to the band, and even with the success in Europe and Scandinavia they achieved, the band remains an undiscovered gem to many.
