Калипта Коста / Costa’s Hummingbird / Calypte costae

A Costa’s Hummingbird (Calypte costae) is building a nest in our yard! The Costa’s Hummingbirds are residents in our northwestern Mojave desert region. You can hear her calls during this video. In addition, you can hear the calls of a Eurasian Collared Dove, Northern Mockingbird, Lesser Goldfinches, California Quail, the male Costa’s hummer and a black-throated sparrow.
