This is Track 2 which consists of three rare fragments from “Siegfried” (Wagner) conducted by Hans Knappertsbusch in Vienna in 1943 and 1937. The first is from Act 1, scenes 2-3, with Hans Hotter (Wanderer) and William Wernigk (Mime), 10 December 1943, the second and third are from Act 2, scene 3, with Max Lorenz (Siegfried) and Elisabeth Schumann (Wood Bird), 16 June 1937. The excerpts were not included in the 24-volume CD set “Edition Wiener Staatsoper Live” of the 1990s. “The Golden Age of Wagner” EJS 44
