Queen (PRE-PITCH CORRECTIONS!) - The Fairy-Feller’s Master Stroke - Live at the Rainbow ’74
The instrumental and vocal isolations were done by “unknown user“.
This is an amateur attempt at bringing this live performance closer to what was supposedly done on that night.
For context, a live version of the Queen II classic wasn’t thought to exist until the release of 2014’s “Live at the Rainbow ’74“ boxset. As amazing as it was for fans, it came with an expense: pitch-corrections! QPL is notorious for re-tuning Freddie’s vocal lines to be more “perfect“, mainly on live releases (and apparently studio outtakes as well?!).
The most notorious example is this performance, specifically Freddie’s high C on “plowboy“ and the falsetto line towards the beginning (according to vocal experts). While we don’t any alternate sources to confirm 100%, considering how unnatural they sound and the confirmed instances of pitch corrections throughout this release, it’s very likely.
