Literary Chatter: The Horse’s Mouth

The last book in Joyce Cary’s trilogy of Herself Surprised, To Be a Pilgrim, and this book, The Horse’s Mouth. This is about Gulley Jimson, the artist Sara ran away with in Herself Surprised. He’s awful and an unreliable narrator and I dislike him intensely. This book was copyrighted in 1944, I’m not sure when this edition was published, I can’t seem to find a date for it, and the publisher is Grosset & Dunlap. The cover art appears to have been done by the same B. Krigstein as the other two in the Universal Library series of publications.
