Demonstrators gather at US Capitol, urge ceasefire in Gaza
The conflict between Israel-Palestine has entered its 13th day showing no signs of ceasefire. Soon after the recent gaza hospital blast, which claimed 500 lives, a blame game began between Israel and Hamas. While Palestine claimed that it was Netanyahu’s rocket, Israel has strongly refused the allegation with purported evidence. Now, the US Capitol has been rocked by massive protests by the Jewish group demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Public access to the Capitol complex has been restricted after a sizable number of demonstrators. Several barriers of bike-rack fencing were erected around Capitol building on Tuesday night as a precautionary measure. Scores of Jews inside the building chanted “ceasefire now” and later they were arrested by the Capitol Police. The Capitol Police also announced they were closing down roads around the Capitol to ensure the safety of protestors outside. Earlier, United States President Joe Biden on October 18 landed in Tel Aviv amid Israel-Hamas war. Prez Biden reached Israel at a “critical moment” and reaffirmed the US’ solidarity with Israel.
