Early Life and Career
Born on March 4, 1948, in Cardiff, Wales, Michael Barratt was the youngest of 11 children. His passion for music was ignited at a young age, inspired by rock and roll legends like Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Adopting the stage name Shakin’ Stevens, he started his musical journey in the late 1960s with a band called The Sunsets.
