In six minutes, a tornado swept through the Mexican border town of Ciudad Acuña with a ferocity that officials say has not been known for over 100 years. More than 200 people were injured, the mayor said. Photos from the scene, which is right across the border from Del Rio, Texas, show cars upside down with parts torn off. The tornado overturned school buses and damaged about 400 houses. Officials said the records do not show such a powerful tornado hitting the city for more than a century. The storm system that spawned the deadly tornado is the same one that spawned the Central Texas squall. Thunderstorms hit both communities on both sides of the border on Friday, but Acuña was hit hardest by the severe weather.
