Venerian Dawn (Finland) - Manifestations of the Serpent (Demo 2021)

The second demo from this excellent North Karelian act, arriving 6 years after their debut, although having been recorded in 2014 and 2015. The trio formed by V.R., T.K. and E.R. were here joined by L.R., which highly contributed to the sound on this demo. Following their already brilliant debut, self-titled demo, this one definitely feels like an improvement. With cleaner production and sharper songwriting, this demo is also more triumphant in sound, and lesser focused on the more melancholic elements of their debut, although that somber, evil atmosphere is still present. The keyboards here definitely contribute, however, for a more mystical atmosphere, enshrouded in snow and in the riches and majesty of the great old one, but the riffs remain utterly sharp and devout to the great tradition of the Scandinavian spirit. Second track also include some absolutley riveting, majestic guitar solos, that show extraordinary prowess without sacrificing the spirit. Released on tape via Astral Temple.
