Black soldier fly maggots, often used for pet food and as fertiliser, have become even more lucrative for an insect farm in Singapore. The innovative facility raises them to extract high-quality biomaterials from fly larvae for use in pharmaceuticals and electronics. Chua Kai-ning, chief marketing officer of Insectta, tends to the moneymaking worms at her farm in the middle of a residential area in the city state.
