Legend of the S.S. Willy Maykett

The Willy Maykett (pronounced Will-He Make-It) was one of many mass-produced transports during the war. It was involved in fighting on both sides of the pond, in at least two different ponds. Although it had a fearsome reputation for being hard to sink, the truly legendary part was that even if it did sink, it would mysteriously re-appear 5 minutes later, acting as though it had never been sunk at all.
