Elton John “Madman Across the Water“

“Madman Across the Water“ written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin originally was recorded by Elton John for his LP, Tumbleweed Connection; however, it was excluded from the album and re-recorded for the following album titled after it, Madman Across the Water. This is the version presented here with Davey Johnstone on guitar in place of Mick Ronson who had played on the original recording. Madman Across the Water, Elton John’s fourth LP, released 5 November 1971 by MCA Records, reached #8 in early 1972 on the Billboard 200 and is available on CD on the Island label.
