Ukraine raises tariffs for Russian gas transit by over 50%

Ukraine plans to raise the fees for Russian natural gas transit via its territory by over 1.5 times, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn said Tuesday. The minister said the tariffs would be raised to about 4.5 U.S. dollars per 100 kilometers. That is more than 50 percent higher than before. Last year, Russian gas transit rate through the Ukrainian territory was about 2.7 dollars per 100 km.
