Maya Tutorial: How to Animate a Dinosaur Run Cycle (Part 1)
In this Maya tutorial series, I cover the entire process of how to animate a creature’s run cycle from start to finish using the free Jurrasic World IRex dinosaur rig. In Part 1, we will begin blocking in the run cycle using a straight-ahead layered method, first by animating the main COG control and slowly adding more detail as we go. The tutorial series assumes some prior knowledge of Maya and animating in Maya, but everything is in real-time so following along should be relatively easy.
