Artist Bio: An earlier incarnation of Leaking Head played a few gigs back in 2011 before disappearing sans ceremony. Rochester’s punk scene lost bands and became dormant in the following years. Their new 2020 lineup faced a nonexistent zeitgeist, due in part, to a global pandemic. They played their debut gig in July 2021, a DIY affair held in a lodge at Genesee Valley Park. Fresh adversity followed. In August 2021, frontman Cougar began a bout with compartment syndrome; a condition known to necessitate amputation to save a patient’s life. His legs became immobile in the middle of the night and agony afflicted him as he was rushed to a hospital. Leaking Head’s incipient fanbase delivered an outpouring of support. Fate delivered a thorough recovery. Since then he’s been delivering performances which garner comparisons to Iggy Pop, Darby Crash (The Germs), and Stiv Bators (Dead Boys). Leaking Head’s lineup consists of seasoned ’rot-core’ veterans drawn from the ranks of Hallucination Realized, The Temptators, Death Camp, Bad Taste and a bevy of other projects. Their collected experiences (musical and otherwise) prepared them to metabolize difficulty. LEAKING HEAD used roadblocks to build a powerhouse. They plan to continue construction ‘til the wheels fall off.
