Richmond. Full titles read: “RICHMOND’S 600TH ANNIVERSARY - celebrated by fine Pageant.“ L/S’s of numerous people in smart dress walking in field. L/S of large crowds standing outside large facade specially constructed of castle. People dressed as Roman soldiers walk past followed by horse pulling a chariot. L/S of women in white costumes (could be dressed as nuns) stand solemnly outside castle. L/S of man hacking lump of meet off large animal carcass. L/S of carnival street scenes in the centre of Richmond. A banner hanging from market stall reads “Richmond Pageant 1329 - 1929.“ Amendment May 2011: Alan Gilpin wrote in to say that this is not Greater London but Richmond in North Yorkshire, as can be seen from the Ox Roast in the cobbled market and the wooden mock-up of a Norman Castle in the field below the Culloden Tower.
