Queer Fish (1930)

Madagascar - story about hunting alligators. M/S of group of about a dozen habitants of Madagascar walking past the camera carrying water pots on their heads. M/S of group of three men walking towards the camera. They walk down a steep bank towards a river or lake. C/U of the three men as they discuss their strategy. They crouch behind a bush. They use a juicy piece of meat as bait with a nasty-looking spike concealed inside. C/U of one of the men carving the spike. M/S of the three men sitting down whilst one puts the spike inside the meat. C/U of the meat which has string tied around it. The meat is thrown into the lake. The men wait behind a bush. C/U of the line which suddenly moves. The men pull on the rope. They drag in an alligator. The alligator is tied on to a pole and the men walk off into the jungle with the gator hanging down. “Supper is on the move and a dangerous pest is removed -“ Lots of children and women run towards the three hunters. M/S of group of tribes people. T
