Blue Moon Trilogy Mural Restoration Update 2022

This memorial mural celebrates the medical success of AIDS research (painted during a frightening time in the gay communities) which has had widespread community support. As is often the case with contemporary murals and their living artists, repainting of badly damaged color fields is often an option and a viable choice. The iconic, historic, monumental, 186 ft mural, Blue Moon Trilogy 1988 by artist Russell Charlton, is located in the 101 freeway underpass on Odin St. in front of the Hollywood Bowl.
