Felling the Thrall This first demonstration by solo act Ferhengnis is an unsubdued mix of old-school influences and a mid-tempo approach that conjures up harrowing images of mental decay and sadness. Influenced by the musical lore of elders, but always firmly rooted in its own singular (one might call it raw in its sonical frailty) approach to harsh underground music, there lingers a certain atmosphere of brittle despair in the air here. Yet, the willingness to devote oneself wholeheartedly to the dark arts of metal noir is unmistakeably on full display with the three songs at hand. “Evergreen Forest Sorcery“ was written, performed and recorded by N.N. Recording took place on the 25th and 26th of May 2019 at Fröbelgasse Proberaum, Vienna.
