The story of the film is based on historical events that took place in the late of 19th - early of 20th centuries in the Northern Russia. Karelian is spoken by about 100,000 people, mainly in the Republic of Karelia, Russia, where it has the status of a minority language. The technique of the film is a stop-motion animation with the combination of hand-drawn and cutout animation. All the drawings are made by 16-year old artist Serafima Smirnova. The educational animation film in Karelian language “Matku Puudogaspäi Pariižassah“ (Voyage from Pudozh to Paris) is created in the International Year of Indigenous Languages under support of the Civil Society Network for Indigenous Finno-Ugric Languages, Association of ethno-cultural centers and organizations for conservation of heritage “Echo” and Nordic Council of Ministers. ________________________________ «Путешествие из Пудожа до Парижа» – это мультик, основанный на реальных исторических событиях. Его главный герой – Лён-Карелка, который, был одной из визитных карточек нашего края в конце 19-начале 20 веков века. Тогда в Пудоже жил такой купец Малокрошечный, о производстве льна которого знали аж в Европе! Мультик, собственно, об этом: как бизнес родился, развился и угас – а почему, смотрите сами, а то интрига пропадет. Над визуализацией мультика от создания образов персонажей до прорисовки фонов работала 16-летняя школьница Серафима Смирнова.
