On June 18, China’s homegrown TP500 transport unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) performed a successful inaugural flight in Jingmen, Hubei Province, Central China. The TP500 is China’s first large transport UAV, developed by the First Aircraft Institute of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). It is completely compliant with Chinese Civil Aviation’s airworthiness administration standards.
TP500 maintained a stable and desirable performance with good security during the inaugural flight, which lasted 27 minutes. The TP500 is a general-purpose unmanned transport platform with a maximum range of 1,800 kilometres, according to reports. It can carry a normal load of 500kg to traverse a 500km radius in the airfreight area.
