Marie-José Pérec, a French sprinter of the 1990s, secured three gold medals at the Olympics. In 1992, she triumphed in the 400 meters in Barcelona, and in 1996, she dominated both the 200 and 400 meters in Atlanta. She was the first woman to achieve two 400-meter victories and a double gold in those events.
Shaunae Miller-Uibo, a sprinter from the Bahamas, made waves at the 2016 Rio Olympics, winning gold in the 400 meters with her famous “dive“ at the finish line. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she clinched the gold again, setting a new North and Central America record with a time of seconds. Miller-Uibo became the second woman, following Marie-José Pérec, to win two Olympic gold medals in the 400 meters.
