“Marche du Royal-Soissonais“ - French army music

The « Soissonnais » Regiment was an Infantry Regiment from the Kingdom of France, created in 1684 and dissolved in 1762. The Regiment was engaged and victorious in the the War of the League of Augsburg (1688-1697), the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714) as well as the War of the Austrian Succession (1740-1748). The « Royal-Soissonnais » March would have been composed around 1750, the soldiers added lyrics to the march. Le régiment de Soissonnais fut un régiment d’infanterie de l’Ancien Régime crée en 1684 et recomposé en 1762. Le régiment a été engagé et particulièrement victorieux dans la guerre contre la Ligue d’Augsbourg (1688-1697), la guerre de succession d’Espagne (1701-1714) ainsi qu’à la guerre de succession d’Autriche (1740-1748).
