Rīgā viņiem pievienojās vēl 130 -- 135 virsnieku. Virsnieku apcietināšana vienlaikus notika arī šu un ņu teritoriālajā korpusā. Plašāk:
On 14 June 1941, along with mass deportations of civilians, repressive measures were turned also against the Latvian Army soldiers.
In the morning, at the Latvian Army camps of Litene and Ostrovieši, situated about 10 km from Litene, at least 430 officers were arrested and deported to Siberia. Several of them were shot dead on the spot.
In the evening, at around 23:00, a train with 17-20 wagons carrying the arrested Latvian officers departed from the station in Gulbene to Riga.
On 15 June, the train reached Riga to bring together those arrested in Litene with those who at that time were ill, were on a business trip or vacation. On 16-17 June, the train departed for Siberia.
Deported officers faced trial from autumn 1941 until spring 1942 and were convicted mainly for high treason. After rehabilitation only 70 of the deported Latvian soldiers returned, the remaining were killed or died in forced labour in various camps.
Overall 4665 Latvian Army soldiers, including 1086 officers (one of them was an admiral and 23 — generals) were subject to repressions of 1940-1941.
