Children’s Display (1920-1929)

Children’s display. Location of events unknown. A children’s summer outdoor extravaganza w/ historical & fantasy themes. Also deaf boys. Looking over heads of spectators down to large field below; group of boys in shorts and shirts build a human pyramid. Then CU shot of group of young (c. age 8 or 9) boys in matching suits; probably school uniforms; laughing and goofing around; but carrying on their conversations in sign language. Group from a school for deaf-mutes; attending this pageant as spectators? Cut to pageant. Children dressed in historical costumes of various sorts: Romans; Vikings; etc. They run around and around in circles. Later; a fairy tale scene of many little girls dressed as woodland spirits or fairies; in flowing white dresses; some with wings on their backs. They are sitting around on the grass; some of them petting someone in a costume of a donkey or horse; w/ a wreath on its head. Finally they all go skipping along 2 by 2 in a procession.
