Ruins. France or Belgium? Various ruins. First 2 men in civilian dress; carrying shovels; walk past bombed field with patchy snow about; with burnt trees sticking up all over; collapsed barn or shed. Pan over ruins of God knows what; totally destroyed horrible frightening desolate landscape looks like Ypres - Wipers - but there were more that looked as bad. Next; pan on bombed out city; with partial walls standing amidst rubble - possibly a bombed cathedral; any way something that had arches. Another bombed town; pan left; some of the buildings are flattened; just rubble on street; others still standing with roofs collapsed etc. 2 Soldiers walking.; pan past more similar - a few more people in distance on what is left of street.
