Sheffield Cavalcade. Construction scenes of enormous car factory (shots seem to be out of order). Various structures being built; right at water’s edge (Leeds and Liverpool Canal?). Several shots of interior huge factory building like plane hangar. Large cranes at work. Workers building frame of large rounded tower-like structure; walking or crawling on beams high above ground. Title frame explains that building site was previously marshland. Crates of machinery inside building. LS construction site. Shot of ships in fog (rather incongruous). Back to interior factory site: setting up machinery. Long line of identical cars driving up road. Shots of car in city. Car on country road; 2 cars meet on 1-lane rural road; 1 must drive off road to let other pass. Also shots of cars on assembly line; skilled labourers at work. These are interspersed w/ still more construction shots. Line of cars driving away from factory, as if just coming off production line. Car park with lines of identical cars
