Funeral of merchant marine Captain Charles A. Fryatt on 8 july 1919. Fryatt was captured by the Germans in 1916 and accused of trying to ram a German sub in March 1915. He was court-martialled and executed on 27 july 1916. Several DS from high up; of outside St. Paul’s cathedral in London. DS steps; with Navy procession going up; crowds on sides. DS in front of cathedral; sailors stand in two lines facing each other. Same; with sailors marching in; then stopping; turning back.
Another group of sailors march in; pulling the coffin; draped with Union Jack. They stop at steps; take caps off. Pan over street curving round monument; with crowds packed in tightly on both sides of street (where the procession has been). DS Sailors carry coffin up steps of St. Paul’s. CU same. They set it down; turn around; march a few steps.
