Nankeen Kestrel (Falco cenchroides) catching a criquet in in slowmotion. Darryl, the rescue Nankeen Kestrel at the Arid Recovery office in Roxby Downs was learning to hunt and I took this opportunity to capture this behavior in slow motion. This is one of the best feature of our modern smartphones in my opinion.

The Nankeen Kestrel is in the falcon family (Falconidae) and is a relatively small raptor. They are found in most areas of Australia and are also found on islands along Australia’s coastline, as well as New Guinea and Indonesia.
