Majestic Series: Roberto Rivelino - Elastico

A classic brazillian legend, the mustache guy, Riva. The founder of the elastico move (or flip-flap) which was then copied by Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and others. He’s famous for his thunderous long-range free kicks, excellent long passes, quick thinking and distinct way of controlling the ball. Undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in his era. Riva started his youth career when he was 16 in barcelona, then he returned to Brazil to start his wonderful career, playing with Corinthians and then moved to Fluminense. He is also one of the stars of the world cup 1970 playing along side with Pele. Rivellino also played in the 1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cups, though with less success (4th and 3rd places respectively). Rivellino was one of the players named by Pelé in 2004 as the 125 Greatest Living Footballers. Rivellino is sometimes credited with scoring the fastest goal in football history when he supposedly scored a goal direct from the kick-off after noticing the opposition goalke
