The mighty Kilslug are a Boston institution. Back in the day, I saw them a hundred times. They often played shows with hardcore punk bands like SSD, and Samhain, but their sound was in sharp contrast to the fast and furious approach of the hardcore scene. They were slower than the slowest Black Sabbath, more dissonant that the noisiest Flipper, and darker than the most satanic metal band.
