Srbija proizvodi Novi borbeni avion? Serbia producing New Jet Fighter?

Novi avion je bio radni naziv za jugoslovenski program lakog višenamenskog nadzvučnog borbenog aviona. Korišćena je skraćenica NA, koja se istovremeno odnosila na Novi avion i na Nadzvučni avion. Prve ideje o pokretanju programa, u SFRJ su nastale, posle poletanja prototipa aviona J-22 Orao, tokom sedamdesetih godina. Program je pokrenut radi održavanja kontinuiteta, opremanja JRV avionima iz vlastitog razvoja i proizvodnje i zapošljavanja kapaciteta jugoslovenske vazduhoplovne industrije, u domenu visoke tehnologije. Program realicije, za Novi avion, je urađen i razmatran 1986. godine. Svi radovi na tome programu su prekinuti s raspadom SFRJ, krajem osamdesetih godina, prošlog veka. Novi avion bi bio jednomotorna lakša verzija avion Rafal sa određenim specifičnostima. Planirano da je da Novi avion bude zamena za avione MiG-21 u naoružanju JNA. Novi avion bi bio na istom nivou poput indijskog aviona „HAL Tejas” ili kineskog „JF-17 Thunder” The new aircraft was the working name for the Yugoslav program of light multi-purpose supersonic fighter aircraft.
