We look at why this area is important for both Ukraine and Russia as well as how Russia has been able to advance there so rapidly in recent months. There are a few ways that Ukraine has attempted to slow the Russian assault but nothing has really worked so far, maybe until now. Ukraine just recently launched multiple drone attacks against Russian ammunition depots that led to massive detonations.
