Minolta AF 100mm F2.8 Macro (D): Lens Review

Macro lenses Amazon - (USA/Can/Europe) Minolta 100mm Macro Used - The last version of Minolta’s well respected 100mm Macro lens, was released in 2000, this design was originally from the 80’s, yet proved to be quite effective even many years later. The final “D“ version, added a distance encoder, an automatic AF/MF clutch, and a newly designed body. This lens was also re-badged by Sony, into the SAL 100mm F2.8 Macro - identical optics, with new coatings/and Sony’s fine rib focus rings. I take a closer look at the lens, show it in detail, and do some tests to show the optical properties of this lens, and discuss the stronger and weaker points of this lens. It remains quite an affordable option on the used market.
