Chess AI Leela (RTX 4090-trained) crushes Grandmaster without a knight

Featured is a remarkable Rapid game between a specialized version of AI Leela Chess Zero and chess grandmaster Alex Lenderman. This version of Leela, LeelaKnightOdds-dev on lichess, was trained on Nvidia’s powerful graphics card, an RTX 4090. LeelaKnightOdds-dev was specifically trained from a start position without a knight. It’s a thing of beauty to see just how effortlessly Leela creates an environment where its queen is more free, embarrasses more than one of the enemy pieces, and launches a tsunami of pawns towards the grandmaster’s king all while making sacrifices along the way. The game finishes with an aesthetic tactical sequence leading straight to mate. And one final note, Leela’s moves only took on average 1.1 seconds! I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
