Out for a Sunday evening cruse, James Kalm is pleasantly surprised when he happens upon an opening at the Marc Straus Gallery on the Lower East Side. After a quick perusal, the painterly pleasure nodes were stimulated and your correspondent was compelled to whip out his camera and record the presentations. Marin Majić fabricates paintings using a “reverse” process wherein he starts building an image in white gesso, then he adds colorful puffs and dashes, over which he lays on a coating of black acrylic.
