George Gee (1935)

Titles read: ’NOW Pathe Pictorial has pleasure in presenting - The famous West End Comedian from “Tulip Time“ George GEE in a little cross-examination by our Pet Reporter.’ Probably shot at Pathe Studio, London. Comedian George Gee, looking extremely dapper in a pinstriped suit and tie with diamond pin, sits in a chair on a set dressed to look like some kind of large country manor kitchen. The Pathe ’reporter’ sits down opposite him at the table and asks George how he passes his spare time. George launches in a funny, rambling answer, speaking very quickly and hardly drawing breath. He says he doesn’t have much spare time but has lately been interested in people’s political policies (his policy is in the insurance office). He goes on to talk of asking a commercial traveller friend who deals in men’s shirts the difference between a black shirt, a green shirt, a blue shirt and so on (obviously political reference to blackshirts / fascists / nazis) - the friend doesn’t seem to get the inference.
