Benes Returns To Prague - 1945 (1945)

Prague, Czechoslovakia. Various shots of the President of Czechoslovakia Dr Edouard Benes and wife leaving a building and getting to car. Huge crowd around him singing, chanting, orchestra is playing, many in crowd in uniform, press taking photographs. Car starts moving slowly through the crowded street with escort. Various shots of Benes’ car moving through crowded streets of Prague- people cheering , waving flags and handkerchiefs - happy occasion. Car arrives at a square where the national anthem is played - huge crowd with state and military dignitaries lined up during ceremony - Russian national anthem is also played - large pictures of Stalin and Benes at square. More shots of the crowd chanting slogans - some are wearing national costume. Heavily damaged Prague buildings are seen.
