Traffic Drill (1931)

Preston, Lancashire. “Lots of us have worried over those traffic signals. In Preston the Police have evolved a new drill to thoroughly master them.“ High angle shot of two dozen policemen in uniform standing to attention in a yard. They wear the white gloves of traffic police. A Sergeant Major type yells off screen and they perform a routine like soldiers doing drill. They hold their arms up in the air. They then lower their arms and turn to the right, clicking their heels. Turn again, click heels. Turn again and hold their arms out to signal to traffic to turn right.
