Major Jorma (Hammy) Hamalainen deployed on HMCS Athabaskan as a young Warrant Officer in 1990 to serve as one of the first door gunners in the CH-124 Sea King helicopter. The RCAF adapted to this new combat role quickly and helped bring about the liberation of Kuwait in February of 1991. Everyone has a story. We want to hear yours.
