Moscow was covered by a heavy snowfall. This has not happened, according to forecasters, since 1941. More than three dozen flights have already been cancelled. According to meteorologists, the snowfall will continue throughout December 18 until 18-21 pm. They believe that another 5-10 mm will fall in the capital on Sunday, which means that December 18 will be marked by a record daily maximum of precipitation for the entire meteorological history of this day. At the same time, as forecasters promise, snowdrifts in the capital region will grow to 40 centimeters by December 19. Wind gusts can reach 15 meters per second. Municipal equipment in the capital switched to enhanced round-the-clock operation on Saturday. 80 thousand workers and over 10 thousand units of equipment are involved.
