Alone Together (1972) - Track 2
Jim Hall (guitar), Ron Carter (bass)
Jim Hall rose to prominence in the early 60’s, and was well regarded for his smooth tonal work and advanced harmonics. Jim Hall and Joe Pass had somewhat of a professional rivalry throughout the 70’s-early 80’s, often trading places atop Down Beat Magazine’s annual Best Of poll. Although they are stylistically very different, there are many overlaps in their bodies of work, which makes for an interesting comparison/contrast.
