Maco BA-1 Balcony Antenna

Call it what you want, a dipole, beam, a starched dipole, whatever, it is in fact a one element beam with a gamma. Who ever saw a dipole with a gamma on it? But then, no one ever saw a beam with only one reflector either. I bought this and use it, because where I live, I am not allowed any big antennas out in the yard, meaning, a dish has to be attached to the roof, meaning it has to be a little dish. Stealthy. I have had this up a month, it works good, made contacts from North Central Wisconsin to Brazil, Granada, Mexico and California with ease. It is less than 12’ in the air, so it has a vertical take off angle and is not directional at all. Works comparable to my 11 meter Inverted V Dipole at 17’ or so. It is only worth having because at certain times of the day, and for certain transmitting antennas, the dipole will work better, then fade out and I can switch to this flat Maco and pick up people transmitting on flat beams. At other times, if you switch from the Maco to the dipole, you will receive tota
